Sunday 21st - N W Lancs Junior Finals Day Ladies To qualify for Charity Cup, four competition
cards are to be returned out of all Sunday competitions and weekday
medals on fixture list. Gentlemen 1. Eligibilty Any junior with a single figure handicap may enter and win the Morris Trophy. No two juniors wiill play in the same group. 1.2 A member paying Junior subscription on 1st January 1.3 Student members will be classed as full members. 1.4 Members will have to have played in a minimum of 3 qualifying competitions from the previous or current year in order to win a prize. Current and new members who have not qualified can still play in the competitions. 1.5 Hire of Buggy. If for medical reasons, a buggy is needed, only the person who has to hire the buggy may ride. No doubling uo unless both have medical reasons. 2. Booking Entry 2.1 Members eligible to play in a competition may append their names to the starting sheet in the Professional’s shop.
2.3 Juniors will only be able to append names one week prior to the competition. 2.4 Prior to the competition, members will be able to append their own name only. No multiple bookings. 2.5 On competition day the course will be closed to all non-competitors until 30 minutes after the last tee-time of that competition. 2.6 On competition day the member shall pay his entry fee to the Professional or his representative before play. 2.7 The membermust ensure that his name is clearly marked as paid to avoid disqualification. 2.8 In the major competitions, The Morris, Captain’s and Presidents, the member shall pay the full entry fee on Day 1. If not, he is not eligible to win the competition. 2.9 In the majors, the member shall be given his tee-time for Day 2 in such a way that the leaders take the later slots. Should a member not wish to take up his allotted tee-time, he will not be eligible to win the competition. 3. Failure to Play 3.1 Removal of names from the competition sheets will be allowed up to 6.00pm on the day prior to the competition. This must be done with the knowledge of the Professional or his representative. 3.2 If removal of a name leaves other players without a scorer the remover must contact them and inform them of such. 3.3 On the day of a competition any member whose name has been entered on the start sheet who is then unable to play must: 3.3.1 Advise the Professional's shop as soon as possible. 3.3.2 Notify his fellow competitors. 3.3.3.Put in writing to the Competition Chairman the circumstances preventing him from playing. Failure to do so, followed by a complaint from fellow competitors will result in a ban from the next two competitions. 4. Competition Scores 4.1 Immediately after completing the round it is the responsibility of the player to check his own card, sign it as correct, ensure the marker has signed it, and return it to the prescribed collection point. In addition, where the player is asked to enter his score in the computer it is the player’s responsibility to ensure his details are correct. Failure to do so will lead to disqualification. Three such occurrences will result in a ban from the next two competitions. 4.2 Competitors are required to ensure that their cards are legible, with full name and start time printed on. 5. Competition Rules 5.1 Competitions will be played from the white tee markers unless stipulated otherwise. 5.2 All competitions will be conducted as defined by the rules of golf and in accordance with the rules governing ties as defined by the LUGC. The Committee shall settle all disputes. 5.3 All players should familiarise themselves with the Rules of Golf and etiquette. Local rules concerning the course will be on scorecards and special rules on the notice boards. 6. Handicaps 6.1 All competitions will be full handicap unless stipulated otherwise on the start sheet, or the competition is a major, when the limit is 20. 6.2 Handicaps for knockouts are restricted. See Rule 8. 6.3 If a player’s handicap has not been reduced when it should have been, the player must make the appropriate reduction under the current handicap scheme prior to playing again. 7. Competition Prizes 7.1.1 Paid by instalments according to the rules eg Fairway Credit. 7.1.2 Receipt by the secretary of full payment the day before the competition. 7.2 Longridge Golf Club places players in Categories for the purpose of awarding prizes as follows: Category 1; handicap of 5 or less Category 2; handicap of 6 to 12 inclusive Category 3; handicap of 13 to 20 inclusive Category 4; handicap of 21 or higher.
8. Knockouts 8.2 Appropriate contact details must be available. 8.3 Dates fixed for completion of rounds must be adhered to. 8.4 Both sides have equal responsibility for arranging matches.
8.9.1 Kelly Trophy - Singles knockout, maximum handicap 20, three quarters the difference allowance for strokes received/given. 8.9.2 Graham Trophy - Pairs knockout: maximum handicap 20, three quarters the difference allowance for strokes received/given. 8.9.3 O’Donoghue Trophy - Singles knockout for aged 55 or over on January 1st of that year; maximum handicap 24. Stroke allowance as above. 8.9.4 H. T Forrest Trophy - Pairs knockout for aged 55 or over on January 1st of that year, maximum handicap 24. Stroke allowance as above. 9. Open competitions 9.2 Members are not allowed on the course prior to an Open competition. 9.3 No other competition may be played at the same time as an Open. 9.4 Prize winners must produce a handicap certificate. 9.5 Prize winners are expected to attend any prize-giving ceremony taking place.
10. Major Competitions 10.1 Prizes are awarded as follows: Captain’s and President’s prizes will be awarded to the Winner in each category for each day, overall winner, runner-up and 3rd places. There will be one gross prize over two days.
10.2.1 To qualify to win the main prize members must have completed a minimum of five weekend and handicap qualifying competitions in the past 12 months.
10.3.1 To qualify to win the main prize, members must have completed a minimum of six weekend and handicap qualifying competitions in the past 12 months. 10.3.2 Maximum handicap 20. 10.4 Morris Trophy
10.4.2 To qualify to win the Morris a member must play from scratch on the two days of the competition. 10.4.3 Net of handicap prizes will be awarded for each day.
11. Other Competitions
11.1.1.The best five scores from the individual medal competitions during the current year before the third Monday in August will be used to determine the team to represent the Club. 11.1.2 If a member is unable to play on the date shown in the diary, he must inform the Handicap Committee in writing before August 1st. 11.1.3 Times wil be alloted to each player. 11.2 Guild Cup 11.2.1.There will be a qualifying competition held to determine the team. 11.2.2.If members cannot represent the Club on the Guild Cup finals day they should not enter the qualifying competition.
12.1 The fixtures are in the diary and the 1st tee is reserved on those dates from 4.30pm to 5.50pm. ( There is a handicap restriction in these games) Competitors and Prize Winners will be expected
to attend the Club presentations. |
